On December 1st, 2016, EY and Crossroads International offer an evening of inspiring conversation with acclaimed author Lawrence Hill in support of Crossroads International’s work to advance the leadership and economic autonomy of women and girls in Africa.
Lawrence will share how his experiences as a Crossroads volunteer influenced his writing and his commitment to the advancement of women’s rights in Africa and will read from his most recent novel The Illegal.
All proceeds will support Crossroads International’s Aminata Fund. The fund supports Crossroads International to advance the leadership and economic empowerment of women and girls in Africa. Established by Lawrence and Miranda Hill, the Aminata Fund is named after the protagonist in Lawrence's award winning novel and television miniseries The Book of Negroes, and honours the resourceful and resilient spirit of the fictional Aminata by providing vital funds to Crossroads’ programs that enable African women and girls to achieve autonomy and reach their full potential.
