Crossroads is mourning the loss of Karen Takacs, Executive Director of Crossroads International. Karen passed away peacefully surrounded by her partner, family and friends on the evening of Monday, August 17.
Karen was a woman of passion, commitment and innovation. For the past thirty years she has worked tirelessly to promote women’s equality and global justice. From her early days as a student activist at Concordia University in Montreal, to her position as National Director of Programs and Advocacy with YWCA Canada, she has been dedicated to improving life for women and girls in Canada and around the world.
