Imagine that you only have $1.75 per day to spend on all of your living expenses, how far do you think it would get you? Do you think you would have enough to eat? Would you spend it on clean water? Could you ever set some money aside in case of an emergency?
There are 1.2 billion people worldwide living below the extreme poverty line (the equivalent of $1.75 CAD/day). These people need to make difficult choices on a daily basis about how they’ll spend this money on food and drink, health, education and shelter.
